AN1: Not sure where this idea came from, but one day I thought about TK confessing to Carlos about being some kind of werecreature. I wanted it to be harmless and fun and the first animal I could think of was bunnies :)
AN2: Not sure if this is crack or just something that's very fluffy and amusing. It took me forever to get back to it and actually finish it up though. I'm determined to go back to several nearly finished stories and actually finish them instead of starting something new though.
TK the Bunny
TK was abnormally anxious. Which was saying a lot considering that Carlos had encountered a wide variety of TK when anxious. None came even close to this.
“Is everything okay?” Carlos said.
He couldn’t help but feel uneasy considering the kind of things that TK could deal with without being anxious or the things that did give him anxiety.
“I – there’s something I have to tell you,” TK said, “Probably should have told you ages ago.”
This didn’t bode well. TK was usually good at bringing up topics that needed to be addressed. The alternative was running. Both reactions that happened in a timely manner to whatever issue caused them. TK wasn’t the kind of person who sat on issues. Unless it involved his dad – and he’d realized that even bringing it up didn’t elicit much of a change.
“Okay,” Carlos said, knowing that TK needed some kind of feedback to keep going at times.
“There’s this condition I have. It’s only really relevant at solstices.”
Carlos frowned, wondering where this was going and why it mattered now. He didn’t usually pay attention to dates like that. For all he knew they hadn’t spent any solstices together yet. Aside from their breakup, schedules had that effect at times.
“And what happens at solstices?”
“I turn into a bunny.”
Carlos blinked. While he couldn’t claim he’d thought of anything specific, this wasn’t even in the realm of what he’d expected.
“Come again?”
“I’m a werebunny. It’s, uh, it’s a bit like a werewolf. Only I’m not actually feral. No matter what others claim. It’s also not bound to the moon, but the sun. Specifically, the solstices. Don’t ask how it works, I never quite got that part. Anyway, so far, we either weren’t together, didn’t live together or you worked on those days. But, uh, this time we’re both off.”
“Shouldn’t your schedule –“
“I’ve always taken time off if my schedule would have me work nights on those days. Aside from being unable to work – I’m not going to live through those comments. Or willingly surrender to Nancy’s clutches. Or Marjan’s. No one can make me do that.”
“So, what does that mean? Do I need to look out for anything? Avoid getting bitten?”
“It’s actually something you’re born with. It can’t be passed on otherwise as far as I know. It’s from my mom’s side. It did skip her though.”
“Okay. Is there anything I need to look out for? Food intake?”
“Not really,” TK said, “I tend to prefer salads and plenty of vegetables before I transform and it appears to keep bunny me filled up to last the entire night.”
“No gnawing on the furniture?”
“I’m pretty sure I grew out of that when I was a kid.”
Carlos couldn’t say if TK was serious or joking. However, he did decide to just take it.
“Nature documentations tend to help,” TK said, turning to their TV setup.
“I think we’ve got several on our watch list,” Carlos said, not sure what else to say to TK’s confession. It was just so out there.
Thankfully, it seemed as if TK was done with the conversation now that he’d confessed and received a seemingly satisfactory response. Carlos was happy enough to just settle on the couch while he chewed over what he’d been told. TK certainly looked as if he was gearing up for a round of snuggling up with him under a blanket. It certainly was a favorite activity of theirs.
A couple of hours later, just as it was starting to get dark, TK had started to get antsy. Not long after he had jumped up to get ready for bed. Carlos had taken it in stride and started with his own night routine of turning down their bed while TK was in the bathroom. He must have dawdled a bit as TK passed him on his way to the bathroom, leaving him alone to get ready for bed. Usually, they spent a bit of time together in the bathroom as they went about their bedtime routine.
When he stepped into the bedroom, he was startled to find the room empty save for a lovely dark brown bunny. It took him a moment to connect the bunny to TK’s earlier confession of being a werebunny and that it actually meant that the bunny had to be his boyfriend.
Taking a deep breath, Carlos acknowledged that TK’s confession had seemed far too fantastical for him to really believe it. Not until confronted with undeniable proof. He knew what he had to do though: Proof to TK that he could handle this. It should be fine. The bed was big enough for him and TK as humans, it should be big enough for him and a bunny-sized TK.
As soon as he was in bed, the bunny hobbled over, snuggling right up to him. Aggressively so. He tried to put the bunny a bit further away, but it simply clung to him. He wouldn’t mind cuddling with the bunny for a bit, but the day was catching up with him and he didn’t want to fall asleep and roll on top of TK. He didn’t want to squish him while he was so small and unable to get himself the space he needed to breathe. Maybe it would just take a bit of petting for TK to fall asleep himself.
With a sigh, he rolled to the side and let TK cuddle against his chest, petting him softly. He could see where others might claim TK was feral. He certainly was aggressive about being snuggled and petted, burrowing as close as possible. It did tickle slightly. However, doing that wasn’t exactly a hardship. He was as cute and gorgeous in bunny-form as he was as a human.

When Carlos woke up, it was to TK’s arms wrapped around him tightly, snuffling slightly against his neck. At first, he thought that TK was still asleep, but then he felt him lick his neck. That wasn’t something he did while asleep.
“Morning,” Carlos said, sleep still clinging to him.
TK hummed slightly. It took quite a while, before he said, “Morning. Sorry if I was bit clingy last night. It’s –“
“Well, I always thought you had no restraint about physical contact – cuddles, sex and all – but bunny-you has shown me that you actually do. Because you don’t have any as a bunny.”
TK giggled and said, “That rhymed.”
“I didn’t mind though. Well, I was worried about rolling over and squishing you, but I didn’t mind the snuggling. You’re a very fluffy bunny.”
“It wasn’t too much?”
“No. I like falling asleep cuddled up to you, you know that.”
“Still,” TK started, “It’s –“
“It’s not going to scare me away, okay? Now, let me cuddle with my very human boyfriend a bit more before I get up to make breakfast.”
TK just hummed and pulled him closer.
