immortaljeI've been considering doing a post like this for a while, but am not sure if it's really going to garner much interest. Well, unlike all the other times, I thought of it while actually sitting in front of my computer and decided to go ahead with it...
Anyway, years ago (while I was still on livejournal), I participated in an icon challenge that required winners (and invited mod's choice) to write a tutorial for the winning icon and I really enjoyed doing that. I've been missing doing that and have thought about writing tutorials again. I just can't decide for what icon I should do it. I've started some general ones, but feel kind of direction less with them. So, I figured I'd just open up the choice to other people and let them request tutorials for icons - provided that I still have the .psd file for it.
TL;DR: If you'd like to know how I made an icon, feel free to request a tutorial here! :)

dailyicons for Heated Rivalry. The men of Heated Rivalry that is. It's my intention to focus on characters outside of Ilya and Shane and I've started with a good variety. Let's see if I can keep up with it :)

This claim was kind of cursed. I had a really good run for the first half of it and then my image host wasn't reachable. From a reddit post I found while trying to check for any kind of news, I found out that they seemingly got caught in the mess of a different site/their host that involved everything being seized by the police. That kind of killed the mood. After a week or two, the page itself was back in a very bare bones way. That is - no images and no new uploads. That's been the state for the past two months or so. Inbetween, I sporadically made some icons until the last third or so which I did while on vacation. I uploaded those to my dreamwidth images as an interim solution, but... I guess I have to figure out if I'm going to wait longer or just bite the bullet and try and find a new image host *again*. This post will be updated with all icons once my original one either works again or I picked a new one. I miss the days of reliable image host with good options for organizing them.

I've taken notes for at least two more posts: One with general stuff about editing an image in general and what tools I know about and another with different techniques I use to brighten an image. They need some more editing and probably some sample images...

All photographs were taken by me and are unedited outside of resizing (and adding some lines). All icons were made by me and while I adore some, I'm not as happy with others. Some are probably over a decade old. I'm unashamed to use them as examples.

This one is a bit of a "ran out of time" post as I didn't get the fic I'd intend to post edited and had a bit of a social event (playing board games with coworkers) after work.
